Should I bag my trash?

Yes, the answer should always be yes. Here's why:

You step out of your car into the garage after getting home or step onto your porch to enjoy the sun rise but you stop in your steps and ask yourself "what's that smell?" While there are many possibilities to the source of that foul aroma, one possibility could be your trash container. As time goes by, a trash container can become very dirty and very stinky. After awhile a mixture of scents, residues and grime takes hold to the bottom and sides on your container. Before you know, you un-intentionally start inviting insects, mold, critters and offensive odors to takeover. Getting the picture?
Add the very hot weather of Oklahoma summers and the unwanted humid weather and it is truly a recipe for something mysterious. I highly doubt you want to spend your time guessing what lies below, do you? Or, think of the times that Oklahoma actually freezes. When it comes to servicing your trash, Nelson's takes great pride in offering the best service to you. As many of you have seen, our haulers work hard to manually collect your trash every single week. If there is loose garbage, it can spill onto the ground requiring additional service to pick it up (and now there's trash on your road), loose trash like vacuum cleaner waste and cat litter can get into the air when dumbed causing exposure to germs and decreasing efficiencies. Un-bagged trash also has the potential to attract dogs, wild animals and rodents.
When there is debris around the cart, it causes operations to be slowed and presents safety issues with loose materials being scattered about. Loose trash is very difficult to keep contained. Additionally, it creates a kink in our daily operations – meaning routes run slower, costs increase and customers are impacted.
